Proven Track Record of Success
Large scale tyre and belt removal from Western Australian mine closure In November 2023, Carroll Engineering secured a contract from Rio Tinto to undertake a significant sustainable OTR & conveyor belt disposal project
The project involved the collection, transportation, and processing of approximately 800 Tones of scrap tyres and conveyor belt reels. This initiative was part of the mine closure activities. Carroll Engineering coordinated the required transport and logistics solutions and mobilised a team of personnel and plant to site for the project. The materials were transported approximately 3400 Kilometres to our Townsville facility for processing
The project signifies a new benchmark in responsible practices for major mining companies, concerning the management (EOL) tyres
Current Locations & Capability
Having facilities in North Queensland and Southeast Queensland enhances our capacity for large-scale processing operations.
It affords the logistical advantage to efficiently cater to the mining and agricultural sectors, as well as to service metropolitan areas across the state. This strategic positioning allows for a seamless integration of services throughout Queensland's industries, ensuring timely and effective processing solutions for end-of-life tyres.
Townsville
The Townsville plant has been operational since November 2023 processing 5000 tonnes per year.
There is an immediate capacity to increase this to 10,000 per year
Yatala
The Yatala Plant Operational since2019 Processing5000 tonnes per year
Current & Emerging Processing Capacity
Townsville – 6,500 expanding to 8,500 / 10,000 tonnes 2025
Yatala – 5,000 tonnes
Perth coming on stream 3,500 increasing to 10,000 tonnes by 2026/27
Port Hedland planning stage and on stream 2025 10,000 tonnes
Expanding Beyond Queensland
Our operations continue to thrive in Queensland and we are expanding into WA in Port Hedland & Perth and NSW
A Mobile plant is envisioned for onsite processing for SA & NT operations.
Expansion into other regions as demand increases for OTR tyre recycling services aligns with our vision to be a leader in tyre processing solutions across Australia, driving economic and environmental benefits in the regions we serve.
Investment into additional full crumb recycling plants will have 10,000 tonne annual capacity in Perth and similar capacity in Port Hedland. Port Hedland will add additional capacity as required in 5,000 tonne lots.
Our capacity to swiftly establish and commission fully operational processing plants enables us to scale our operations sustainably and efficiently. This agility ensures our timely response to market demands
